NAPOLEONVILLE - Emergency officials in Assumption Parish are staging sandbags in several areas for residents that need them.

Assumption Parish Planning Officials said they're anticipating an increase of two-and-a-half inches of water in the parish, and are continuing to get information around how flood levels in the Mississippi will affect the parish.

They recommend everyone in the parish take necessary precautions and preparations, especially people living in low-lying areas.
