Sandbags available in Ascension, roads closed Tuesday night
ST. AMANT- Sandbags will be made available at the fire station on Stringer Bridge Road close to the 10 o'clock hour Tuesday night.
The message was posted to the Ascension Parish Homeland Security's Facebook page.
The concern is over rainy weather that has lingered for much of the afternoon and evening, and is expected to continue into Wednesday.
By 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, six roads had been closed because of rising water.

According to the Weather 2 team, the rain and some thunderstorms will become more widespread tonight. Rain will become heavy at times.
