Sales tax for shopping center approved
DENHAM SPRINGS- City leaders approved a one-cent sales tax for a new shopping district along I-12.
The Springs at Riverside Landing will be inside city limits and a few miles away from the delayed Juban Crossing development. The sales tax would help fund the site. City leaders will oversee the new taxing district.
The project is still in the design phase but developers said they hope to break ground in the coming weeks.
The shopping center is expected to generate about 500 jobs.
