Saints remain defiant after post-bounty loss
METAIRIE - New Orleans defensive captain Malcolm Jenkins says he appreciates that the Saints did nothing to change the minds of those who suspect the bounty scandal and related suspensions will derail their season.
He also points out that previous playoff seasons included setbacks that looked a lot like their sloppy, out-of-synch, penalty-ridden loss to Washington in Sunday's season opener.
Jenkins says the reality of the NFL is that most teams lose at some point. He says he'd rather lose early, so the Saints can find out what they're about, identify weaknesses and correct them.
Interim head coach Aaron Kromer says some players tried to do too much against the Redskins, and need to trust their teammates and focus on their own assignments heading into next Sunday's game at Carolina.
