In front of a national television audience, the New Orleans Saints are showing why they are one of the NFL's elite teams. At the half, the Saints lead the Atlanta Falcons 28-14. Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush scored on rushing touchdowns for New Orleans. Drew Brees also connected on a TD pass with Marques Colston. Bress has completed 15 of 17 passes for 201 yards, while tossing one interception. Even the Saints defense is doing its part, using a Jabari Greer interception for a touchdown to give the black and gold a two score advantage at the break. New Orleans is looking to start the season 7-0 with a victory, matching the franchise mark set in 1991. Atlanta scored on a Michael Turner TD rush as well as a Kroy Biermann fumble return. Atlanta missed two field goals, including one to end the half. The Falcons would fall three full games behind the Saints in the NFC South division with a loss tonight.
