NEW ORLEANS - Drew Brees hit 2 historic milestones, and the New Orleans Saints beat the Dallas Cowboys 26-20 in overtime in a must-win game for the Saints.

Brees hit CJ Spiller for an 80 yard touchdown pass - the 400th of Brees' career - on the first possession of overtime to win the game.

THe Saints found the end zone first, with Brees finding Josh Hill for a touchdown to give the Saints a 7-3 lead.

The completion was the 5,000th of Brees' career - only Brett Favre and Peyton Manning have reached that plateau.

The Cowboys responded with a 1 yard Joseph Randle touchdown run that gave the Cowboys a lead at the half.

The two teams have traded field goals in the 3rd quarter, but the Saints took the lead in the 4th.

Khiry Robinson punched in a 1 yard score to give the Saints a 20-13 lead but the Cowboys responded to tie the game at 20.

The Saints had a 30-yard field goal attempt to win in regulation, but Zach Hocker's try hit the goalpost and sent the game into overtime.

The Saints were 0-3 and had lost 6 straight games in the Superdome: those streaks now come to an end.
