
The New Orleans Saints earned their seventh win of the season, tying the 1991 Saints for the best start in franchise history.
The Saints scored 21 second quarter points but were tested by a late Atlanta Falcon rally, holding on for the 35-27 victory.
Drew Brees threw two touchdowns, one interception, 308 yards passing and a fumble. The Saints running game was paced by Pierre Thomas who scored two touchdowns.
The Saints defense once again came up huge, as Jabari Greer returned an interception for a score and Port Allen native Tracy Porter also had an interception on the Saints' 1-yard line on a pass tipped by Jonathan Vilma in the fourth quarter, preserving a 28-24 lead.
Darren Sharper sealed the win with his seventh interception of the season in the final seconds, the third interception of the game thrown by Matt Ryan.
