NEW YORK - Saints coach Sean Payton has arrived at NFL headquarters, where his suspension appeal in the New Orleans bounty case is being heard by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Payton arrived Thursday, several hours after Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt went into the league offices for their appeals.

Vitt and his lawyer, David Cornwell, met with Goodell for 90 minutes.

Goodell suspended Payton for all of next season for his role in the bounty system. Loomis was suspended for eight games and Vitt for six. The Saints were fined $500,000 and docked two second-round draft picks.

NFL investigators concluded that from 2009 to 2011 the Saints offered improper cash bonuses for big hits that either knocked opponents out of games or left them needing help off the field.
