Rural boil advisory issued
FRENCH SETTLMENT- People who live along Highway 444, and receive water from the French Settlement Water Company are being asked to boil their water.
The order was issued Monday night. The company said there was an emergency line repair.
Despite a few homes actually losing water, many customers should take precautions the company reported.
"The technicians were able to valve off the line and only had water to homes on Hwy 444 affected; therefore, the entire system was not without water. Until a negative bacteriological sample can be obtained customers on Hwy 444 should consider boiling water they may consume," W. E. Edrington said.
Samples will be collected on Tuesday and the boil advisory automatically rescinded by 5:00 Wednesday or another boil advisory will be issued.
Bring the water to a rolling boil for one minute to ensure safe consumption of the water.
