Runaway teen caught up in erotic dancing, sheriff says
OPELOUSAS - Sheriff's deputies in St. Landry Parish, about an hour west of Baton Rouge, believe a runaway teenager may have become caught up in an illicit lifestyle involving drugs and erotic adult dancing.
Alexandria Davis vanished in February. Deputies said she cut off her court-ordered ankle bracelet and ran away from her home. Detectives and family members have not been able to find her, but Monday, said they believe she might be dancing at adult clubs.
"To think of a 17-year-old girl from our parish out there in that world of drugs and erotic dancing is frightening," Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said.
Deputies said Davis was spotted at an adult club in Lafayette, called Lipstick. Also Monday, authorities released a picture of Davis with shorter, blond hair. Her picture was posted on various local and regional media sites as deputies promised to keep searching.
"Our entire effort in this case is to get Alexandria back home to her family," the sheriff said.
He offered a personal message to the missing teen: "Walk up to any police officer anywhere and identify yourself. You will be protected and treated with respect. We want you home and safe. You don't have to live in that nightmare, just let us help you."
