Rough weather sending home workers early
Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden encouraged his appointed department heads to allow their non-essential employees to leave work at 2 p.m., due to severe weather in the area.
A storm system is expected to bring heavy rain of up to three inches. Flash flooding and tornados are also possible.
The worst of the weather is expected during the afternoon rush hour from 4 to 6 p.m.
Baton Rouge and surrounding areas are under a tornado watch until 7 p.m.
