HEAD OF ISLAND- Alligator hunters say Hurricane Isaac caused several problems as the season gets underway.
Livingston waterways were closed until this week, high water levels have pushed alligators into uncommon areas, and recent cool weather means the reptiles move around less.
Gator hunter Kenny Watts said there is pressure to fill his 45 tags, the most he's ever had for one season. Watts says despite the obstacles, hunters must keep trying: he caught a 10-foot alligator and several smaller ones by mid morning today.
Watts said he expects more action in the afternoons when the weather heats up.
