Roseland robbery suspect arrested
HAMMOND - A suspect in a Roseland armed robbery was arrested yesterday in Hammond after a car chase.
A man knocked on the victim's door about 2:30 pm. When the victim opened the door, the man took his wallet at gunpoint and left in a black Cadillac Deville.
About two hours later Hammond Police spotted a similar car, but said the driver refused to stop and sped away. Police said the driver eventually drove into a ditch and tried to run, but officers caught him.
Officers arrested Timmothy Berry and booked him into the Hammond City Jail before he was moved to Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
Investigators victims also identified Berry as the robber.
