Funeral services for Ron Zappe began a couple of minutes ago at St. James Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge.
Zappe, the founder of Zapp's potato chips, died earlier this week in Houston, where he was undergoing treatment for throat cancer. He was 67.
Outside the church, the Zapp's fire truck was parked to the side. Zappe drove the truck and rode on it during many Mardi Gras celebrations and community events.
Rachel Frost will be speaking with some of the family after the service and will have more on News 2 at 6 and 10pm.
