PHILADELPHIA- Leaders in Pennsylvania sued to stop what they call a rogue county from issuing marriage licenses to gay couples saying it violates the law. D. Bruce Hanes in Montgomery County near Philadelphia began issuing licenses to gay couples last week saying the wants to "come down on the right side of history and the law." The lawsuit wants the Commonwealth Court to prevent Hanes from issuing the licenses. He's handed out about three dozen. Pennsylvania does not recognized same-sex marriages or civil unions. The state Health Department declined to comment on the pending litigation and Hanes had no comment.
