Robertson musical will quack Vegas up
WEST MONROE- The Robertson family is venturing into musical theater.
The Louisiana stars of cable TV's "Duck Dynasty" are working with a veteran producer from Broadway on "The Duck Commander Family Musical." The show will take to the stage at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as early as February.
The show will be 90-minutes and is based on a book about the Robertson family, written by the Robertson family.
"The specificity and the strangeness of the family's lives and home are a great fit for a compelling musical," Robert Morris, who is involved with the production, told The New York Times. "We're trying to do is pull out as much heart, humor and sincerity as we can to keep people surprised."
Morris said it will be more than what people expect; not just "chicken-pickin' stuff and banjos."
