Robbery suspect arrested after parking lot brawl
LAROSE - Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's deputies reported the arrest of a man accused of simple robbery after a fight broke out in the parking lot of a Larose convenience store early Saturday morning.
Deputies said they responded to reports of a disturbance at Roland's Mini Mart at 12:45 a.m. where two male passengers of a party bus involved in a disagreement. As the argument escalated, one of the men called his family to the scene to aid him as the altercation became physical.
The bus driver was trying to get the riders back onto the bus when one of the men pulled a Glock 22 handgun from the driver's waistband and pointed at him. Deputies said the driver was punched in the mouth by the brother of the suspect who pulled the weapon, but by the time law enforcement arrived on the scene both suspects had fled the parking lot with the firearm in Mack's possession.
While TPSO detectives were still at the scene of the original disturbance, the suspects were involved in a car crash on Bourg-Larose Highway. Detectives were then able to catch up with the suspects, place them in custody and transport them to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office for processing.
24-year-old Jazmin Mack, of Larose, was charged with simple battery, while 27-year-old Jorgio Mack, also of Larose, was charged with simple robbery and aggravated assault. Mack remains in the parish jail on $75,000 bond.
