Roads, waterways still closed in Ascension Parish
GONZALES - Ascension Parish authorities continued to deal with swamped roads and high river levels after heavy flooding last week and more rain this past weekend.
Waterways are still closed to recreational watercraft until they drop back down to safe levels again.
Here's a list of current road closures in the parish:

Idle Hour Road

Bayou Terrace Drive
Diversion Canal Road
Sand and bags are available at the following locations. The parish asked people to bring their own shovels.
