Roads reopening after train derailment
BATON ROUGE - Roads are starting to reopen near the site of the train derailment on S. Choctaw Drive and N. Sherwood Forrest Drive.
DOTD says S. Choctaw is open from N. Sherwood Forrest to Monterry Drive. However, one westbound lane is still closed while crews continue to clean up.
This comes after seven cars of a train derailed Friday. The Baton Rouge Fire Department says one of those cars was carrying hazardous materials, but it didn't leak.
The train was removed from the area Saturday at around 1 a.m. No word yet when the clean up will be entirely finished.
