Riverwalk construction expected to be done by summer
NEW ORLEANS - Construction on the planned outlet mall for the Riverwalk in New Orleans is expected to be over by early next summer.
The current structure has been stripped down to just concrete and beams.
New Orleans city and business leaders took a tour of the $70 million dollar construction project for the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk yesterday.
Developers with The Howard Hughes Corporation gave the tour. They hope tenants will be open for business by summer 2014.
50,000 square feet will be added to the current space, bringing it to at total of 250,000.
Some areas of the mall will be widened 30 feet on the land side and 90 feet towards the river.
