Riverdale's Donte Jackson commits to LSU over UGA
NEW ORLEANS - Riverdale High senior cornerback Donté Jackson announced on Wednesday morning his decision to pass on Georgia and USC, making his verbal commitment to come play for LSU later this year.
Jackson, a 5'11", 164-pound cornerback out of New Orleans, announced his commitment this morning at a press conference at his high school, hot off a stellar senior year and breakout performance in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl this year.
He was strongly courted by recruiters from UGA, and he told press that he had not even made the final decision when he went to bed last night. Donté Jackson is the No. 1 athlete in the country and the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana, according to 247sports.com. He comes at as the No. 7 recruit in Louisiana and 58th overall in ranking by Rivals.
Jackson is set to join another 5-star defensive back in Kevin Toliver II and several other top 100 commitments in LSU's newest class of 17 recruits. National signing day is coming up on Feb. 4.
