Ridley focused on eliminating fumbles
BOSTON - Fumbles have plagued former LSU Tiger running back Stevan Ridley even when the ball was dry. Steady rain presents another challenge for the New England running back.
It wasn't a problem for him as Patriots conducted their organized team activities on a soggy day.
Ridley lost fumbles in three consecutive games last season. After the third, in the first quarter against Denver on Nov. 24, he was benched for the rest of New England's 34-31 overtime comeback win. He lost a total of four fumbles last season leading to three touchdowns and a field goal.
So he's been working on avoiding a repeat this year.
Ridley says he needs to focus more consistently and carry the ball more tightly. And he says he can learn from his mistakes.
