Ricks announces plans for second term
LIVINGSTON - Parish President Layton Ricks announced Thursday, he is running for re-election.
In a news release Thursday, Ricks touted his last three years in office when there has been a surge in new developments and infrastructure improvements. The Juban Crossing development opened for business late last year and this week, Epic Piping announced a $45 million project to build a fabrication facility in the parish that will create 560 jobs.
"These are exciting times for Livingston Parish," he said. "This election is about keeping our great Parish moving in the right direction," Ricks said.
Although, Ricks and members of the parish council are often at odds.
Ricks, a Republican, is 60-years-old. The election is in October.
