Reward offered for tips in NO toddler's death
NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and his police chief are appealing for the public's help in finding the person or people responsible for the shooting death of a 13-month-old girl.
The child was being held by an 18-year-old baby sitter who was wounded in the Thursday night shooting.
A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case. Police have issued images from a surveillance video that shows two people - described as "persons of interest" - walking past a house in the area.
Friday morning, police questioned three people from a residence near where the shooting occurred.
At a Friday news conference, Landrieu and police chief Ronal Serpas decried the lack of tips from area residents who likely know something about the shooting.
