LIVINGSTON PARISH- DEMCO is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information about a copper theft at one of its sub-stations that left almost 4,000 people without power for most of Thursday.
The power company discovered copper cut from its Watson sub-station on Highway 1019 when looking into the cause of the outage.
The steal left some damage at the sub-station, and the thief, or thieves got away with about $200 worth of the material, but power was restored to all customers by mid-afternoon.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the case with the FBI. If you have any information that can help them, contact the sheriff's office. If your information leads to an arrest and conviction, you could get that reward as well.
