Four days after a chemical fire, 11 homes and an apartment complex remain off limits. The wait to get back into those homes is taking its toll.
News 2 was with Susie Olinde as she went inside her home for the first time in days. She only gets a few minutes to check on her home and pets. She doesn’t even have time to clean up the mess her animals have made.
Olinde paid out of pocket to stay in a hotel until she’s allowed back home. It was the money she’d planned on using to pay her lot rent. Now it’s running out.
So far no one has offered to reimburse her. That means she could be out of the hotel and possibly unable to pay the rent in a place where she can't even stay.
