Residents to weigh in on Port Allen budget
PORT ALLEN - City leaders in Port Allen expect to hear from the public Wednesday night during their council meeting on the proposed 2013-2014 budget.
The city has operated on last year's budget since the fiscal year ended in June.
Last week, council members voiced their concerns over Mayor Deedy Slaughter's $11 million budget proposal, which she presented in September.
Issues include numbers for the city's police department, community development funding and employee salaries.
We'll have the latest on tonight's meeting later today on News 2.
