Residents react to man gunned down during basketball game
BATON ROUGE - One man is dead after witnesses told News Two he tried to walk away from an argument.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department Justin Guillory, 21, was shot multiple times outside a gym in the 5100 hundred block of Osborne Avenue.
Witnesses said Guillory had just been involved in an argument with another person who was walking away when he was gunned down.
Morlena Sanders said she was visiting her sister, who lives down the street from the gym, when she heard 15 gunshots ring out into the air.
"I was shocked because that never happened over here before. Not on this street," said Sanders.
Police said a basketball tournament for a local league was happening when Guillory was shot.
So far, police are still investigating, and there are no suspects or a possible motive yet.
If you have any information about the shooting, contact the BRPD Violent Crimes Unit at (225) 389-4869.
