BATON ROUGE - Neighbors in North Baton Rouge will meet tonight to take back their neighborhood.
It follows a shooting where a 15-year-old was hit by a bullet while doing homework in her home. Detectives are still looking for 18-year old Darius Joseph in connection to the shooting.
"Anything we can do to keep our kids safe in our neighborhood is our main focus," Dorothy Young said.
"We want better for our neighborhood," Linda Bailey said. "Our neighborhood had been a very safe place. We have a lot of children here and we don't want this type of violence in our neighborhood."
Councilwoman Ronnie Edwards is hosting the meeting along with Baton Rouge Police. She hopes people will come together to talk about their problems and come up with solutions on how to solve them.
The meeting begins at 6pm at King's Children Full Gospel Church. It's at 3024 Amarillo Street.
