Residents asked to go to alternate postal offices

BATON ROUGE – The United States Postal Office is notifying residents affected by the recent flooding, to go to alternate post offices to get their mail.

Residents are asked to go to the postal office located at 8101 Bluebonnet Boulevard. Below is a list of impacted post offices in the Baton Rouge area advised to go the alternate postal office on Bluebonnet:

Greenwell Springs, LA , 70739 to Zachary, LA 70791

Weyanoke, LA, 70787 to St. Francisville, LA, 70775

Denham Springs, LA, 70726 to Baton Rouge P&DC at 8101 Bluebonnet

Customers can pick up their mail with proper identification at the alternate post offices. As water recedes in the impacted areas, both mail and delivery services will be restored.

*Customers who get mail delivery to Post Office boxes at the Central Finance Unit in Baton Rouge, will no longer have to go to the Scotlandville Post Office to get their mail. The Central Finance Station's P.O. Box lobby will open August 17, and mail will be waiting for customers, when they drop by to check their P.O. Box.
