A reptile rescue group is looking for permanent homes for 21 big pythons confiscated from a snake farm near Oakdale.

The Louisiana Association of Reptile Keepers says many are 16 to 19 feet long and seem healthy.

Allen Parish deputies arrested David and Tammi Beauchemin - owners of High End Herps Inc. and Happy Hounds Rescue - Friday on charges of animal cruelty and theft by fraud.

David Beauchemin remains jailed without bond.

Tawni Beauchemin was released to tend to remaining animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, rats and hamsters.
