Report: Woman attacked because she looked happy
PONCHATOULA - Deputies arrested a 16-year-old for attacking a woman while she was running on a track since she "looked happy."
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department said the woman, who was 29-years-old, was hit in the head with a tree branch while running at the Ponchatoula Area Recreational District Park on North Hoover Road Tuesday morning. ActionNews17.com reported the woman fell and screamed. Her scream was heard by a park worker who watched the teen runaway.
The teen was found nearby and was detained by a state trooper.
Authorities said the teen was a runaway and said he attacked the woman because she looked happy and he was unhappy.
The woman had an injury to her head.
