Repairs on the Government Street railroad crossing are expected take place Nov. 21, according to a Kansas City Southern Railroad representative.
Drivers told News 2 the crossing has been in bad shape for years and has even damaged some cars.
State transportation officials said crossings are the responsibility of the railroad, not the state.
LA DOTD officials said they have received complaints about the crossing and have notified the railroad about the problem. Department public information officer Dustin Annison said repairs are normally scheduled for the weekend to avoid peak traffic time.
