Repair or sink
PLYMOUTH, Mass.- A replica of the Mayflower, the wooden ship that brought the Pilgrims to America, has to undergo extensive repairs to remain seaworthy. The Mayflower II is 56-years old and was in dry dock for routine maintenance and inspection. During that work, it was discovered the ship need repairs to its frame. The work should be finished in May and the ship will go back to the Plymouth waterfront as part of a living-history museum. The original Mayflower sailed from England in 1620, landing the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock.
