Rep. Giffords now at Houston rehab center
TUCSON, Ariz. - A plane carrying Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has arrived in Houston after a flight from Tucson.
The congresswoman is being moved to a rehabilitation hospital in Houston.
An ambulance took Giffords to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson along a route lined with well-wishers holding flags.
It's the first time Giffords left the Tucson hospital since she was brought there with a gunshot wound to the head nearly two weeks ago. Six people died in the attack Jan. 8 outside a grocery store, where Giffords was meeting with constituents.
