Regulators to discuss nuclear power plant
ST. FRANCISVILLE - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a meeting for people to learn about issues with the area's nuclear power plant, River Bend.
Inspectors have been at the plant recently for incidents relating to two unplanned shutdowns and a security violation.
The NRC calls the meeting an open house and it will be held on April 14th from 4 to 5:30 at St. Francisville Town Hall.
"The NRC continually reviews the performance of River Bend and the nation's other commercial nuclear power plants," NRC Region IV Administrator Marc Dapas said. "Meetings like this provide members of the public with an opportunity to speak directly with the NRC staff who help ensure the plant's safety on a day-to-day basis."
