Registration payments raised for sex offenders
ALLEN - Kinder officials agreed to raise registration fees for sex offenders living in Kinder, a town in Allen Parish.
The uncontested ordinance took this past week by the Kinder's Town Council increases the initial registration fee from $60 to $400 for newly convicted offenders and those moving into the town. The annual renewal fee will increase $40 which will make the payment $100 for all offenders.
The due payments match those set in October by the Allen Parish Police Jury and similar to recent increases imposed by Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake and other nearby communities.
