BATON ROUGE - Tickets for running red lights are arriving years later for some drivers in Baton Rouge.

Arturo Jerezano is one of those drivers. He showed News 2's Brittany Weiss a ticket indicating he drove through a red light on September 17th, 2011. He received that ticket in the mail this week.

"I don't even have that car," he explains. "That car sold about 5 years ago, a long, long time ago. I don't even remember that car until I see the picture."

That 5-year-old fine comes out to $117. The violation occurred at the intersection of Winbourne and Victoria. It's one of 17 intersections in the city with cameras. The city says it can explain the late-tickets. The camera vendor it uses recently updated its system identifying new addresses for old violators.

The system has snapped hundreds of thousands of pictures since 2008. It's been called a money-grab in the past, and nearly five years after something may or may not have happened, it was called that again Thursday.

"Money, money, money," Jerezano says. "They are money hungry."

The city says the late violations work the same way as the others. Violators have 60 days to pay the fine or request a hearing date.
