Red light camera rampage gets man arrested
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested the driver of a truck, accused of going on a red light camera rampage.
Nelson Nixon is charged with damage to property relating to two incidents at the end of 2013. Investigators said Nelson drove his truck into two camera poles after he received citations from the equipment.
According to court records, Nelson backed his truck into the setup on College Drive then did the same thing on Coursey. He caused $15,000 in damages, police said.
Police arrested him this week, months after the alleged crimes, after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
A WBRZ crew attempted to contact Nelson, but he could not be found.
