Red Cross volunteers deploy to Oklahoma
BATON ROUGE - Teams of Red Cross volunteers in Louisiana left today to help people affected by a devastating tornado in Oklahoma.
Red Cross spokesperson Nancy Malone said teams from Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette and Lake Charles all headed north early Tuesday morning with Emergency Response Vehicles.
The vehicles will help volunteers distribute food and supplies to residents and first responders still combing the destroyed town of Moore for any signs of tornado survivors or victims.
The Red Cross also activated their Safe and Well website to help people find family members or loved ones in Oklahoma they haven't been able to reach.
