Red Cross spread thin with severe weather damage across the south
BATON ROUGE- The Red Cross is on stand by at this hour as another round of severe weather threatens to tackle our area once again.
But the organization is making plans to help with fewer workers and volunteers because of the high demand for help that weather disasters are causing around the country right now.
Just two weeks ago in Baton Rouge, more than a dozen families sought help after weather ripped through their homes. One family called for help Tuesday morning.
With worries over a repeat this week, the organization is doing all it can to be ready.
Red Cross Spokeswoman Nancy Malone said, "The demand is there and like I said we're in a position to help, but we also need the community to help us."
