BATON ROUGE - The Red Cross shelters in anticipation of the arrival of Isaac are now open.

As of Tuesday evening, the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness said an estimated 2,900 people were in shelters across the state.

The Red Cross says there are supplies that you need to bring with you, if you do utilize the shelter. Some of those items include:

• Special dietary food.
• Prescriptions.
• Baby food, diapers, other baby supplies.
• Cards, games, books, snacks. Clothing.
• Toiletries/personal hygiene items.
• Bedding: blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, air mattresses. Important papers in waterproof container (examples: insurance, wills, financial records, Social Security cards, birth/marriage/death certificates)You may want to put these supplies in a watertight storage bin, duffel bag or backpack.
