BATON ROUGE - Red Cross chapters and food banks across Louisiana have been busy helping people out after Hurricane Isaac, and now they're asking for help as well.
FEMA said the organizations are asking for donations to help replenish supplies they've used giving relief to people affected by the storm in south Louisiana.
The agency said food banks in particular were running low and looking for cash donations, food and volunteers to help them out. FEMA said as of Wednesday, food banks in south Louisiana had distributed 867,000 pounds of food to help people affected by Isaac.
The Red Cross will take donations this Saturday at the LSU football game in Baton Rouge. Donations can also be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation, or online at RedCross.org.
