Red carpet welcomes actors supporting state film tax credits
BATON ROUGE- The stars were out in support of the state's lucrative film tax credits Tuesday night.
Celtic Studios was transformed into a gala to support the credits, which have become the center of talk among some lawmakers at the State Capitol. There are discussions to possibly limit the program. Filmmakers have said that could ruin the budding movie industry in Louisiana.
People should "understand the industry, understand what's going on, understand how many jobs its created and what the economic impact is and don't be so quick to cut this program back," Will French with the Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association said.
Actors from the movie Search Party, currently shooting in the area, were among the stars at the event.
