Recycle live Christmas trees
BATON ROUGE- Christmas trees can be recycled and area municipalities announced plans for retrieving live trees from residents.
In the city of Baton Rouge and unincorporated areas of the parish, curbside pick up will be from January 5 - 16. Drop-off sites open Friday and will remain open to January 31.
Trees can be left at Independence Park, Highland Road Park, Kathy Drive Park, Flannery Road Park, the Pecue Wood Recycling Facility and LSU's Skip Bertman Drive parking lot across from the vet school.
Curbside service is not available in Baker and Zachary.
In Ascension, trees can be taken to the Lamar Dixon Expo Center on January 10 and 11 from 8 a.m. To 5 p.m.
