Record-setting early voting ends Saturday
PORT ALLEN- Early voting ends Saturday in the recall election of the town's mayor.
Since voting began a week ago, more than a third of eligible voters cast a ballot early. Election leaders said the number of early voters in the town for this item is a record.
Mayor Deedy Slaughter faces a recall and if it is approved, she would be removed from office and a new election will take place to fill the seat. She can run again.
The election is November 16th.
