Record number of guns seized at airports
WASHINGTON- The TSA has confiscated a record number of guns at airports this year.
Through November 17, 1,931 travelers have been caught trying to board planes with guns in carry-ons, which surpasses last year's total.
The busiest travel days of the year are still ahead. TSA also confiscated swords, a live hand grenade and a few dummy grenades.
Most passengers say they forgot they had the weapons but once caught, travelers are subject to criminal and civil penalties and the cases are referred to local authorities.
