A nationwide recall is on for all Caldwell alfalfa products after it appears to be tainted by salmonella.
The sprouts made at least 23 people sick, including an infant sick, in 10 states. Caldwell Fresh Foods, in Maywood, California produced the products. They are sold under various labels in certain stores, including Wal-Mart and Trader Joe's.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems.
