Reality TV star accused of rape from 22 years ago
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies filed new charges of forcible rape Monday against William Hayden, the former star of reality TV show "Sons of Guns".
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said a 34-year-old woman told detectives Hayden raped her 22 years ago. Deputies said she was 12 at the time, and that Hayden had her smoke marijuana before covering her mouth with his hand and forcing himself on her.
Detectives arrested Hayden on Aug. 8 and accused him of molestation. He left jail on a $150,000 bond the next day, but was re-arrested on Aug. 26 for aggravated rape charges against the same victim, who was also 12 years old.
Hayden is still in jail on a $250,000 bond for the previous charge of aggravated rape. Bond has not been set for the new charge.
Hayden's company, Red Jacket Firearms, cut ties with him after the second arrest. The Discovery Channel also canceled "Sons of Guns" around the same time.
