BATON ROUGE- A raw sewage leak in East Baton Rouge Parish left some people wondering who to call.

Residents in the Shadowbrook Lake Subdivision say raw sewage has been spewing from a manhole since Sunday. They called the homeowner's association and the city-parish, but claim no one will take responsibility.

The city-parish says it's not to blame since the subdivision has a private pump for sewer. Ascension Wastewater Treatment owns the sewer pump, and workers say they didn't get a call until today about the raw sewage.

Homeowners told News 2 they just want the problem fixed.

"We were told it was private matter so we expect the people who control our homeowners to take the appropriate action in getting this problem resolved," said Thomas Blankenship.

Residents also filed a complaint with the Department of Environmental Quality, which is investigating the situation.
